Minwax Wood Finish Stains
We use Miniwax Wood Finishes to provide long lasting wood tone color and to enhance the natural grain.
Due to color variances on computermonitors and differing wood types, colors represented here are approximate. Always test stain on a scrap piece or hidden area of the wood to verify actual color.

Residential, Commercial and Industrial Waxing, Polishing & Cleaning
Stripping and waxing floors is an important part of keeping your facility clean and taking care of your flooring surfaces. Today, everyone is faced with making decisions on how to stretch their maintenance dollars. Therefore, it is important to choose floor coatings that offer quality at an affordable cost. It is also important to choose the correct product for the type of flooring being cleaned.
There are several types of common flooring materials, linoleum, marble, quarry, rubber, slate, terrazzo, unglazed ceramic tile, and vinyl asphalt to name just a few. Each of them has its own particular composition and must be handled in different ways.
There are 8 steps that we follow when stripping and waxing floors:
- We dust mop to make sure all loose dirt has been removed and carefully remove any items, like gum, that are stuck to the floor surface.
- We post wet floor signs to advise the public and employees of the potential slipping hazard.
- We prepare the stripping solution according to recommended strengths.
- We apply the stripping solution to small sections of the floor and let it work for about 5-7 minutes depending on the materials 5. involved and the condition of the floor.
- We use an auto scrubber with an abrasive pad to remove the existing sealer. For hard to reach areas a squeegee is sometimes used to remove build-up or stripping solution.
- We use the auto scrubber and sometimes a mop to remove the dirty stripping solution and water.
- We damp mop the floor with clean rinse water and allow it to thoroughly dry.
- We finish the process by applying the sealer of wax appropriate for the surface.
High traffic areas are prone to dirt and grit and can give a beautiful floor a less-than-professional look. Dirt and grit can damage your floors permanently and cause unsightly and unsafe scratches and nicks. Ensure the appearance and cleanliness of all your floors with high quality floor cleaning and waxing services. With proper floor cleaning and waxing, your floors will maintain their shine and lessen the impact of everyday wear and tear. Experts advise that regular floor cleaning and preventative maintenance will keep floor surfaces looking their best and increase the longevity of your floor, saving you money in the long run.
We offer first class floor cleaning services for all floor surfaces including:
- Vinyl
- Hardwood
- Ceramic
- Tile
- Cement
- Terra cotta
- Slate
- Marble
- No Wax Floors
We clean and maintain the floors of stunning corporate lobbies, busy apartment building foyers, high traffic school cafeterias and all kinds of businesses large and small. Let us do the same for you. Our superior cleaning methods, floor care techniques and commercial janitorial floor waxes and supplies will exceed your high standards of cleanliness and floor appearance. Our floor cleaning and waxing services include:
High-speed polishing – Give your floors a professional shine with super performance high-speed floor polishing machines.
Waxing and sealing – Protect and buff your floors with high-quality, professional waxing products.
Without proper maintenance, vinyl and linoleum floors lose their sheen. These types of floors can develop wax buildup and an unsightly yellow discoloration. This dingy film coupled with deep scratches and abrasions acts like a magnet that attracts even more dirt and grime. We can remove your floor’s old sealer, reseal it with a high-quality sealer and buff the surface to a sparkling shine. This sealer and gloss finish will extend the wear of your floor, reduce marks and scratches and guard against soil penetration and abrasion.
Types of Floors and Wood Stains
Selecting the right types and style of woods can have a large influence on the quality of your flooring project. We work closely with our clients to educate them about wood flooring so they can make an informed choice.
Wood flooring comes in two separate categories – hardwood and softwood. Examples of softwoods include; Pine, Redwood, Fir, Cedar and Larch. Hardwoods include Balsa, Beech, Birch, Cherry, Brazilian Cherry, Chestnut, Ebony, Elm, Hickory, Jatoba, Mahogany, Maple, White Oak, Teak, Walnut and Bamboo.
In general hardwood comes from deciduous trees and softwoods come from conifer trees. On average, hardwood is of higher density and hardness than softwood, but there is considerable hardness variation in actual wood hardness in both groups with a large amount of overlap for example some hardwoods such as Balsa are softer than most softwoods.
We sand and refinish any existing hardwood floor, and install any type of tongue and groove hardwood floor.
We also install Floating Wood Floors. A floating floor does not need to be nailed or glued to the sub-floor and can be installed over most existing floors, including concrete, ceramic, vinyl, wood and even some indoor/outdoor carpet.
Wood Styles
Woods styles come in strips, planks, or parquet tiles with numerous edge treatments such as square, micro, and beveled edges. You choose from a wide range of stains to complement your décor and from several types of finishes including unfinished and prefinished / preengineered.
Another factor that determines the appearance of wood floors is the angle, or “cut,” of the grain. No matter what the species, construction or finish wood floor comes with one of three cuts: plainsawn, quartersawn or riftsawn.
Plainsawn is the most common cut. A plainsawn board contains a more open and varied grain patterns because the angle of the cut shows the growth rings more prominently. Quartersawn wood is cut at an angle that produces less board feet per log than plainsawn, therefore it can be more expensive. As for appearance, quartersawn wood is tighter-grained for a more consistent look, which many clients find desirable. Another benefit of quartersawn wood is that it tends to twist and cup less and wears more evenly. Riftsawn wood is similar to quartersawn in cost and benefits, but is cut at a different angle for a slightly different grain pattern.
